Q:What is Self-Regulated Learning?

A:

Self Regulated Learning is a model that focuses on teaching students the skills that they need to be successful in the classroom and in their personal lives. This process empowers students to continuously improve their strategy use and results no matter the course or instructor.

  • Self-regulated learning is a circular process that includes the following:

    • Constant planning

    • Goal setting

    • Monitoring

    • Evaluating

Q:What systems does Academic Independence have in place to promote Self Regulated Learning?

A:

  • Academic Independence offers a digital program created by our founder, Lauren Price, designed to increase executive functioning and self-regulation skills.

  • We also offer tutoring in self-regulated learning. The sessions will consist of planning, goal settings, monitoring and evaluating the end result in order to fine-tune the process and start again.
